This Sunday morning we held a "Firefighter Skills Class Webinar" and an "EMT Skills Class Webinar" for our weekly Sunday Training. This training had our members logging onto their computers due to the COVID-19 pandemic as the Vista Fire Department continues with holding online learning.

This Sunday's "Firefighter Skills Class Webinar" had our Firefighting personnel going over motor pump operations. Vista Firefighters virtually learned how a fire pump operates, what the functions of a pump panel are and how to operate each pump panel in the Vista Fire Department. This type of training is what will help our Firefighters who plan on attending the New York State Firefighter I program succeed in their class and for our Firefighters who have completed Firefighter I to keep up with their skills.

This Sunday's "EMT Skills Class Webinar" had our EMS personnel reviewing the "ABCs" (airway, breathing and circulation) of EMS. Vista EMS personnel also conducted virtual overviews on how to take a blood pressure, pulse, blood sugar reading and how to listen for lung sounds on a patient. This type of training is what will prepare our EMT Candidates who are planning to take a future EMT Basic class succeed and for our EMTs who have completed EMT Basic to keep up with their skills.
