The Vista Volunteer Fire Department would like to wish everyone a Happy "National EMS Week" as we honor our very own Emergency Medical Technicians!

"National EMS Week" was established back in 1974 when President Gerald Ford authorized the week to help honor those EMTs serving in the United States. This year's theme is "Beyond the Call" and you can get more information on EMS week over at http://www.emsstrong.org/

The Vista Fire Department first introduced EMS back in 1969 following a purchase of a Dodge Van that became our first ambulance, Rescue 22. The Vista FD responds to about 150 EMS calls during an average year.

We are always looking for future members interested in becoming EMTs, if you would like to join please visit VistaFD.org and click the "Become a Member" tab. All EMS training in New York State is free of charge in the Vista Fire Department.
