This week's Monday drill was "Narcan Operations" training for our members.
The "Narcan operations" drill had Patrick Quinn from the Westchester County Department of Health lead the training as part of the Westchester County "community opioid overdose training." Vista Fire Department personnel learned how to properly use Narcan on a patient who has overdosed, a review of all the dangers opioids possess and indicators of a potential opioid overdose on a patient. This type of training has now better prepared Vista Fire Department personnel when handling an emergency response where an opioid overdose is detected.
If you are interested in being part of our team at the Vista FD, visit us any Monday night from 6:30pm - 9:30pm for more details or click the "Become a Member" tab at VistaFD.org!
