This week's Monday Night Drill was a "Search & Rescue" drill for our Firefighters and a "PCR Review" drill for our EMTs.
The "Search & Rescue" drill had our Vista Firefighters reviewing search & rescue techniques followed by several evolutions where search & rescue skills were necessary in a residential structure fire setting. This type of training helped our Firefighters better prepare themselves for the challenges they may face in a structure fire atmosphere when they may need to exit a building or conduct various tasks such as a search & rescue.
The "PCR Review" drill led by our Medical Director Dr. David Zuckerberg had our Vista EMS personnel reviewing their Prehospital Care Reports (PCR's) as part of our "Quality Assessment & Quality Improvement (QA/QI) Program" during a Call Audit on Monday night. PCR's are the documentation of all the care and pertinent patient information that our EMT's will receive during an EMS call.
