This past Saturday afternoon members of the Vista Fire Department watched the New York Yankees defeat the Cleveland Indians 6 to 5 from a luxury suite inside Yankee Stadium!

The event was the prize for the 2019 Saturday Platoons 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament that was won by Platoon 3. Members of Platoon 3 and those members chosen by Platoon 3 members who could not attend were able to experience today's game with a once in a lifetime opportunity!

The "Saturday Platoons Program" started in 2015 and currently has 40+ members spread out over four platoons on shift one Saturday each month to cover the Vista Fire District during a 12-hour span. Each Platoon is led by Officers and Foremen where our members cover the Vista Fire District starting at 1900hrs on Saturday evening until 0700hrs on Sunday morning.
