"This is a new class developed by the New York State Intelligence Center (NYSIC) and the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES) and delivered by local Intelligence Liaison Officers (ILOs). The purpose of the class is to make Fire/EMS responders better aware of suspicious activities (potentially related to terrorism and other criminal behavior) and the proper way to report these observations to the New York State Terrorism Tips Line. New York State has approximately 100,000 Fire and EMS responders who respond to over 2 million calls per year.
