Over the decades, Vista F.D. has had three distinctive patch
designs. Our first patch of 1941 was a black diamond depicting the word "VISTA" in
a silver rectangle superimposed over a silver "V". In the 1950's this was replaced
for a short time with a white chevron depicting a gold eagle with a flag banner and
ribbon captions stating "Fire Dept. Vista New York".
Vista Fire Department's current patch is a red chevron depicting the flags of the United States and a flag bearing the scales of Justice flying from a firefighting multise cross, surmounted by an American eagle. "Vista NY" appears at the top, and "Est. 1941" proudly states our long heritage of over 50 years of service. Our department patch is worn on both shoulders of our white parade uniform shirt. The patch is also depicted on both doors of our chief's car. Our membership maintains a department patch collection at our firehouse. We trades patches with other Fire Departments and Ambulance Corps nationwide and around the world. Patches are traded one per each unique patch we receive to add to our collection. If you have a patch that you are interested in trading, please send us a note, an e-mail, or a patch. Sorry, Only our current red patch is available for trade!) |
