We at the Vista Fire Department would like to congratulate Probationary FF Mike Canil, Probationary FF Jenn Barry & Probationary FF Claudia Smith on completing the very first Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (BEFO) class in Westchester County, New York.

"BEFO" is a 43-hour course that teaches Firefighters all the duties and techniques that need to be performed from an Exterior Firefighting role. Students learned how to properly place ladders on the fire ground, the importance of staging equipment during a structure fire and proper hose line techniques when battling a fire from the outside of a structure.
