This week's Monday Night Drill was a "SCBA Operations" drill for our Firefighters and a "EMS Core Content" drill for our EMTs.

The "SCBA Operations" drill had our Vista Firefighters following 150 feet of 1-3/4" hose line through several obstacles that challenged our Firefighters to conduct skills such as "reduced profile," "full removal," and how to handle getting your SCBA tangled up by various obstructions. This type of training helped our Firefighters better prepare themselves for the challenges they may face in a structure fire atmosphere when they may need to exit a building or conduct various tasks such as a search & rescue.

The "EMS Core Content" drill had our Vista EMS personnel reviewing cardiology, pediatric emergencies, neonate and basic EMS operations during an emergency. This type of training is part of our CME (Continuing Medical Education) program so our EMTs can maintain a high level of understanding on how to properly do their job.
