This week's Monday Night Drill was a "Ropes & Knots" drill for our Firefighters and a "Packaging & Extricating Patients" drill for our EMTs.

The "Ropes & Knots" drill had our Vista Firefighters reviewing how to do several knots such as Figure 8, Figure 8 on a bight, Figure 8 on a bend, clove hitch, half hitch, safety knot, becket bend, sheet bend and the hasty harness. They also practiced hoisting tools and equipment using the knots they were taught earlier in the night.

The "Packaging & Extricating Patients" drill had our Vista EMS personnel reviewing stair chair operations, proper lifting techniques with patients and a review of how to use equipment that will be used while moving a patient. Following this review our members practiced operating the scoop stretcher, reeves stretcher and stair chair in several scenario settings.
