Extrication and EMS CME Drill for 09/24/18

This week's Monday Night Drill was a "Extrication" drill for our Firefighters and an "EMS CME" drill for our EMTs.

The "Extrication" drill had our Vista Firefighters practicing stabilization and extrication operations by reviewing techniques such as door & roof removal while using our extrication tools. Motor vehicle extrication is the process of removing a person who has been involved in a motor vehicle accident when conventional means of an exit are impossible or inadvisable.

The "EMS CME" drill had our Vista EMS personnel continuing their medical education by learning about hematology and how to treat abdominal emergencies. The class is part of our CME (Continuing Medical Education) Program so our EMTs can re-certify after their 3 years of certification for being an EMT expires.
