This week's Monday Night Drill was a "Forcible Entry" drill for our Firefighters and a "EMT Practical Review" drill for our EMTs.

The "Forcible Entry" drill had our Firefighters reviewing the proper procedures and techniques on how to force open a door in the event of a Fire. The term "forcible entry" is defined as the act of gaining entry into a building or occupancy via a door, window or even through a wall, by the use of force. The Vista Firefighters specifically focused their training this Monday on gaining entry via a door by using our Forcible Entry prop.

The "EMT Practical Review" drill had our EMS personnel going over the practical skills stations they will need to perform for their upcoming EMT Basic exams. During the drill our current EMT Basic students went over how to conduct a medical, trauma and CPR practical scenarios so they are prepared for their exams to become a licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the next couple of weeks. They were given scenarios similar to the ones they will receive as part of their final EMT Basic exams.
