We at the Vista Fire Department would like to congratulate Foreman Dan Castelhano on completing the "Apparatus Operator – Emergency Vehicle Operations" Class at the Westchester County Fire Training Center in Valhalla, New York!

Foreman Castelhano completed the 18-hour course described as the following by New York State:

“This course provides vehicle operators with a better understanding of the seriousness of emergency vehicle operations. Based on objectives from National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 1002 Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator, Chapter 2, this course stimulates the thought processes to make students aware of the potential for tragedy and financial loss and of the legal and moral responsibilities encountered when operating an emergency vehicle.”

All training is free of charge to the members of the Vista Fire Department and Volunteers are needed! Please visit VistaFD.org for more details on how you can join our team!
