Hose Line Advancement & Rehab Operations Drill for 04/30/18

This week's Monday Night Drill was "Hose Line Advancement & Rehab Operations" for our Firefighters and EMTs.

The "Hose Line Advancement & Rehab Operations" drill had our Vista Firefighters practicing several different fire scenarios testing them on how they would respond to a structure fire. Firefighters would stretch an 1-3/4" hose line off of Engine 141 and practice proper layout & placement of the attack line as they fought several different "fires" at different locations within the Vista Fire District in a scenario setting.

While our Firefighters were participating in several different scenarios, our EMT's practiced "Rehab Operations" which was designed to ensure Firefighters' physical and/or mental well-being during an emergency scene. Due to the dangers that come with Firefighting, rehab operations plays a crucial role in making sure all of our emergency responders stay safe. The Vista Fire Department is fortunate enough to offer both Fire & EMS services which allows our members to train together in crucial scenarios such as these.
