This week's Monday Night Drill was "V.E.I.S." for our Firefighters and a "Trauma CME" drill for our EMTs.

The "V.E.I.S." drill led by FF Sean Kelly had our Vista Firefighters going over the Firefighting technique known as V.E.I.S. which is Vent, Enter, Isolate and Search. Vista Firefighters would vent a 2nd story window, enter the room after it was vented, isolate the room to control the environment and then they conducted a rapid search to locate the patient. During this drill Vista Firefighters also practiced single person 24' ladder throws.

The "Trauma CME" drill had our Vista EMS personnel visiting Pound Ridge VAC to continue their medical education on soft tissue trama incidents. Topics included open and closed wounds, crushing injuries, burns, punctures and penetrations, blast injuries, amputations, and avulsions. Our Department appreciates the opportunity to train with neighboring agencies and as always, extend our thanks to Pound Ridge VAC for hosting this past Monday's CME lecture.
