At around 1930 hours Tuesday evening, the Vista and South Salem Fire Departments were dispatched to a Structure Fire on East Street.

Upon arrival Vista Car 2561 had smoke showing from inside the residence and elevated our response to a "Level 1 Alarm." Vista Engine 141 quickly arrived on scene at this time and placed an 1 3/4" hose line in operation where the fire was knocked down. During extinguishment of the fire, Vista & South Salem Firefighters conducted ventilation and overhaul operations while checking for extension throughout the structure.

We would like to thank the South Salem Fire Department, Pound Ridge Fire Department, New Canaan Fire Department, Wilton Fire Department, Bedford Hills Fire Department, Ridgefield Fire Department, Westchester EMS Paramedics and Battalion Chief 13 for their help on Tuesday evening.

After determining that the fire had been adequately overhauled and extinguished following a complete investigation from the Westchester County Cause & Origin Team, command was terminated and units returned to service shortly after 2200 hours.
