This week's Monday Night Drill was a "SCBA Operations" drill for our Firefighters and "Assisting ALS (Advanced Life Support)" drill for our EMTs.

The "SCBA Operations" drill saw our Firefighters following 150 feet of 1-3/4" hose line through several obstacles that challenged our Firefighters to conduct skills such as "reduced profile," "full removal," and how to handle getting your SCBA tangled up by various obstructions. This type of training helped our Firefighters better prepare themselves for the challenges they may face in a structure fire atmosphere when they may need to exit a building or conduct various tasks such as a search & rescue.

The "Assisting Advanced Life Support (ALS)" drill led by Westchester Medic Hamlet Cuello saw our EMS personnel go over what the Paramedics need before and during care as they transport patients to local hospitals. This type of training will continue to help our EMS personnel have a strong working relationship with the Paramedics when operating on an EMS scene.
