Fire Call Scenarios Drill for 10/09/17

By Vista Fire Department
October 10, 2017

This week's Monday drill was "Fire Call Scenarios" for our Firefighters and EMTs.

The two drill scenarios were active fires at the East Street community house and one of the commercial businesses in the Oakridge Commons plaza. Firefighters practiced stretching 1-3/4" and 2-1/2" hoselines, simulating a forced entry, masking up for entry into the structure, and hooking up Tanker 4 in a water supply role. In an effort to closely monitor our Firefighters’ performance throughout each evolution, EMTs followed up with rehab and vitals on every participating Firefighter. Due to the dangers that come with Firefighting, rehab operations plays a crucial role in making sure all of our emergency responders stay safe.

During the "Fire Call Scenarios" drill, our Firefighters were led by Capt. Mike Peck and our EMTs were led by Capt. Debbie Ferman. The Vista Fire Department is fortunate enough to offer both Fire & EMS services which allows our members to train together in crucial scenarios such as these.

If you are interested in being part of our team at the Vista FD, visit us any Monday night from 6:30pm - 9:30pm for more details or click the "Become a Member" tab at VistaFD.org!
