This week's Monday Night Drill was a "Water Supply" drill at the Pound Ridge Firehouse for our Firefighters and an "Ambulance Inventory" drill for our EMTs.

The Vista Fire Department joined Fire Departments from Pound Ridge, South Salem, Golden's Bridge, New Canaan, Long Ridge, Banksville, Bedford Hills, Bedford, Somers and Croton Falls in practicing tanker shuttle operations. We would like to thank the Pound Ridge Fire Department for hosting the Tanker Shuttle.

A "tanker shuttle" is where Firefighters are forced to move water via tankers due to areas with no fire hydrants or good drafting resources. It is instrumental for Departments in our area to have an adequate water supply to insure a successful fireground operation. Being that the Vista Fire District is a "rural water supply" area, practicing this type of water supply operations is instrumental.

This week's EMS drill led by Capt. Debbie Ferman had our EMTs and EMT Candidates going over an equipment review on each of our Ambulances. Vista EMS personnel reviewed each piece of equipment by going over their function and how they are used on an emergency scene. This type of training is important for our EMS personnel so they get a better understanding of where all the equipment is on the Ambulances and how to properly use it.
