"FF1 Skills Refresher – Engine Company Operations " Class is a 6-hour course described by the Westchester County Fire Training center as the following:

“This Firefighter I skills refresher delivery on Engine Company Operations will challenge firefighters and Company Officers to facilitate various type of hose stretches with given practical scenarios/obstacles. Emphasis will be stressed on the importance of scene sizeup/the recon process. Members attending will develop a keen understanding of the Engine Company responsibilities. Information about the various size hoses, appliances, tools and equipment carried on Engine Companies will be discussed/ displayed. Various strategies dealing with the unexpected stresses/ failures with hose, appliances and equipment will be shared. Lastly, members attending will develop a versatile and safer application of portable deck guns/ deluge devices.”
