This Sunday morning we held an "MPO & Firefighter Fundamentals Class" and an "EMT Fundamentals Class" for our weekly Sunday Training.

This Sunday's "MPO & Firefighter Fundamentals Class" focused on doing a "Tanker Shuttle" for our perspective Tanker 4 drivers as they prepare to conclude their training process. A "tanker shuttle" is where Firefighters are forced to move water via tankers due to areas with no fire hydrants or good drafting resources. It's instrumental for Departments in our area to have an adequate water supply to insure a successful fireground operation. Being that the Vista Fire District is a "rural water supply" area, practicing this type of water supply operations is instrumental to our Department's success.

This week's "EMT Fundamentals Class" had our EMT Candidates review the New York State EMT-Basic exam as they prepare for taking the test this month. This type of training is what will prepare our EMT Candidates who are currently taking the EMT-Basic class and those EMT Candidates who are preparing themselves for a future EMT-Basic class.
