On June 4th, 2016 the Vista Fire Department held their Annual Inspection Dinner at the Vista Firehouse on Smith Ridge Road in South Salem, New York.

At the 2016 Vista FD Annual Inspection Dinner the VFD awarded Foreman Jake Melcher as its 2015-2016 Firefighter of the Year, EMT James Marcarello as their 2015-2016 EMT of the Year and Foreman Marc Baiocco as it's 2015-2016 Rookie of the Year.

Foreman Melcher joined the Vista Fire Department back in July 2014 and has been certified in courses such as Firefighter I, EMT Basic, Firefighter Survival, Truck Company Operations, Firefighter Assist & Search Team, Engine Company Operations and Thermal Imaging Camera Training Class. Foreman Melcher was the #5 responder in 2015 attending 106 calls out of 226. Foreman Melcher is also currently the Foreman of 84B2.

EMT Marcarello joined the Vista Fire Department back in June 2008 and became an Emergency Medical Technician following the completion of the class back in the Fall of 2008. Since then he has consistently been a reliable EMT in the Vista Fire Department and has been a strong contributing factor in the VFD’s day-to-day EMS operations.

Foreman Baiocco joined the Vista Fire Department back in January 2015 and has been a dedicated contributor to the VFD ever since. He has attended such classes as Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Firefighter Survival, Firefighter Assist and Search Team, Thermal Imaging Camera Training class and has been Nationally certified in Firefighter I. Foreman Baiocco was the #7 responder in 2015 attending 98 calls out of 226 and was the #4 drill attendee participating in 32 of 37 drills in 2015.
