For this week's Monday drill the Vista Firefighters & Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT's) practiced using the Lucas CPR machine by going through several EMS call scenarios led by our EMS Captain Judy Saslow.
Our Vista First Responders simulated doing manual CPR, hooking up the Lucas CPR machine to perform CPR, operating the AED and moving the patient to our Ambulance as they would during an EMS call.
The "Lucas 2 electric CPR device" is an automatic chest compression system that performs manual chest compressions at a high quality and volume. It helps First Responders from not being tired during CPR compressions by giving adequate chest compressions in accordance with the latest CPR guidelines.
