This Sunday morning following our weekly member breakfast, Foreman Phil Katz led several of our Firefighters through hose line advancement training at the Vista Firehouse to practice stretching a charged hose line through a structure. The purpose of this training is for our Firefighters to have the proper fundamentals of fighting a fire in the event of an emergency.
The Motor Pump Operations (MPO) portion of the class saw our Firefighters take Engine 142 to the dry hydrant in the Oakridge Commons condo complex as they practiced operating the pump panel, how to begin “drafting operations” at a dry hydrant and how to properly "draft" from a water source.
