The Vista Fire Department would like to congratulate Foreman Peter Gomez on completing "Cancer and The Firefighter: Stuff Every Firefighter Must Know" class at the Westchester County Fire Training Center in Valhalla, New York!
The Westchester County Fire Training Center website described this 3-hour class as the following: "Firefighters have twice the risk of “getting” cancer as compared to a civilian. This class talks about why firefighters suffer a much higher risk than other folks, explains what cancer is and, most importantly, how firefighters can reduce their cancer risk."
