This week's Monday Night Drill was "Vehicle Stabilization" for our Firefighters and "Preparatory & Airway CME" at Pound Ridge VAC for our EMTs.

The "Vehicle Stabilization" drill had our Vista Firefighters reviewing how to properly stabilize a car when it's on all four tires following a motor vehicle accident and how to stabilize a vehicle on it's side leaning up against an object. Vista Firefighters also went through a review of how to operate stabilization struts and straps during this drill.

The "Preparatory & Airway CME" drill had our Vista EMS personnel visiting Pound Ridge VAC to continue their medical education. "Preparatory" includes the well being of an EMT, pertinent medical information to the EMT, baseline vital signs and lifting & moving patients. The "Airway" portion included reviewing the set of maneuvers and medical procedures performed to prevent or relieve an airway obstruction. Our Department appreciates the opportunity to train with neighboring agencies and as always, extend our thanks to Pound Ridge VAC for hosting this past Monday's CME lecture.
