The Vista Fire Department would like to congratulate Firefighter Lance Phillips on completing his probationary period in the Department through the VFD Mentor Program!

Since joining the Vista Fire Department, Firefighter Phillips has completed the Firefighter I course at the Westchester County Fire Training Center in Valhalla, NY. Firefighter Lance Phillips actively participates during calls & drills and has been mentored throughout his probationary period by Lt. Wilmer Cervantes.

The Vista Fire Department Mentor Program is a process where new members are paired up with a senior member to help guide them through their probationary period in the Department. This program was developed to help transition new members into the Department by understanding call response, attending weekly Monday drills and preparing them for classes they may be taking in their 1st year with the Department.
